Sunflow builds and connects power that drives economies.
Sunflow founder Matt Kolbinsky began his career building the US Embassy in Liberia, where he saw Africa’s largest solar installation sit idle without a grid connection. He set out to solve that problem: power systems that exist but don’t work.

Over 12 years managing US Embassy projects across Africa and Europe, Matt trained thousands of local workers and delivered every build on time despite coups and currency collapses. In Zimbabwe, he designed an off-grid microgrid solution that was adopted by the US government.

Sunflow grew from that experience, bringing together international leaders in utility-scale and distributed energy. Today, as we scale toward 500 MW in operation, we hire locally, train teams to US electrical standards, and remain committed to every market we enter. Our portfolio spans solar, storage, embassy microgrids, and wind projects across multiple continents.
